Throughout this term, our Year 10WWW students have been working on using scientific method to develop a scientific investigation. The students were required to choose their own topic, develop and implement key research questions, create and carry out practical experiment, analyse and draw conclusions from their research and present finding to their peers in a scientific manner.
The students chose to investigate a broad range of topics that included aerodynamics, forensic investigation, the industrial application of acids and bases, investigating the water quality in Geelong and electricity. This unit has enabled students to develop their skills in scientific method and gain a better understanding of the complexities of scientific research and analysis. The work the students have put in has been amazing.
Giving an oral presentation can be a nerve-racking experience for many students. The students have gained valuable experience in planning, preparing and presenting their results and it was very rewarding to hear their professional presentations.
