School Council elections for parents
An election is to be conducted for members of the School Council of Lara Secondary College. There are currently five parent member category positions open.
Nomination forms may be obtained from the school or on Compass and must be lodged by 4pm on Thursday 29th February in hard copy.
Members of the School Council are encouraged to attend all School Council meetings. Meetings in 2024 commence at 5.30pm on the following dates:

- Thursday 16 May 2024
- Thursday 13 June 2024
- Thursday 8 August 2024
- Thursday 12 September 2024
- Thursday 24 October 2024
- Thursday 21 November 2024
- Thursday 12 December 2024
Parents on school councils provide important viewpoints and have valuable skills and a range of experiences and knowledge that can help inform and shape the direction of the school.
Those parents who become active on a school council find their involvement satisfying and may also find that their children feel a greater sense of belonging.
